This picture pretty much sums up January. Leo is exercising his freedom and enjoys skydiving off anything he can climb the only time I know he is "safe" is in his car seat. We were sick most of the month and today I experienced being vomited on by my son. Looking forward to spring, sunshine, and warmer weather.

We had a wonderful time camping at St. Croix State Park-The weather was hot! It was Leo's first time sleeping in a tent not bad for 7 months old! We topped off the weekend by stopping for ice cream...Josephine is becoming a pro at the vanilla cone!

I was lucky enough to receive a scholarship from the Journal for Nurses in Staff Development to be able to attend the National Nurses Staff Development Convention in San Diego in July, however Leopold decided to go on strike from his bottle, leaving me only one option...bring him and grandma with! Smart baby! We had a wonderful time, he especially loved experiencing his first earthquake while at the San Diego Zoo..

Our house is no longer a house it is a home filled with Josie's love of chaos and we as her parents are loving it. I love having to jump over toys and step over doll houses, elmo, and blocks. I love the milk spills on the floor and the drool stains on the couch cushions the tupperware drawer scattered into random rooms, I have never seen our home look more beautiful as it is now that it is being decorated by a toddler.

We spent with weekend thanking grandma for being the best! We took her to the north shore for a long relaxing weekend of beverages, fudge, smoked fish-chesse-crackers et al. We had a wonderful time watching the waves and of course hiking to the summit of Mt. Josephine in Grand Portage.

Josephine celebrated her 14 month birthday on the fourth of July! She is getting so big, she has been drooling up a storm thankfully she has learned how to blow her nose which helps, unfortunately she blows her nose on everything-we will just keep working on this! We had a wonderful weekend fishing and BBQing we also went to the science museum to see Star Wars-actually it was pretty cool...

We enjoyed a wonderful week in the north woods with the exception of the vomiting and diarrhea from the youngest member of the family...unfortunately Josie decided to share her bug with her daddy...oh well...Jeff still was able to win the Jack Morris bobble head fishing trophy and retain his status as King of all the Walleye again this year! Good thing because we found out that Josie loves to eat fish...I guess since I'm not a fan I have never thought to make it for her...

We just returned from our first family vacation to Florida. Josephine loved the warm weather, beach, and alligators. We were welcomed home on our 5th year wedding anniversary to snow! One more week and the birthday girl turns 1 year old. We are looking forward to the ducky day:)

Okay success finally! After 2 previous attempts to construct this 3D duck cake we were able to actually get the duck out of the pan. Josephine loves ducks and I wanted to make this cake for her 1st birthday. Since im not the greatest cook I thought I would start attempting to make practice cakes knowing the I have a couple of months to figure it out. Here is cake 3# :)

Josie turned 8 months back on the 4th of January. She is becoming such a little lady and is now saying da-da and ma-ma, she said da-da first which made Jeff happy. She is satisfied with rolling to wherever she needs to go making crawling a longer than normal achievement. I never thought I could love someone as much as I love her and everyday my love for her increases, I feel so blessed to have a daughter. Jeff and I continue to be in awe at how fast she changes and even though everyone tells us "they grow up so fast" its still truly amazing. We are all decompressing from the holidays and are enjoying getting back to a routine. We have a couple of long weekends planned snowmobiling, skiing, and visiting friends coming up, and are thankful to be able to spend this time together. Thanks for visiting our site!

Josie went on her first sled ride back in early December, here she is being pulled by her daddy! I just finished talking to her grandma and this is definitely something to note: today thanks to prunes Josie pooped through her diaper, outfit, onto her grandmas shirt, through to her pants and the explosion goes on...anyway I think I will put the prunes away for a while! Enjoy the pictures!

Josie has had a busy month she cut her first tooth the day before Thanksgiving and 1 week later the second bottom tooth followed! She is now eating fruits and seems to enjoy these much more then the veggies. She went to see Santa, picked out her Christmas Tree, went out to play in her new sled in the snow and helped mommy bake! Im pretty sure she needs a hair cut but I just can't handle the idea of having someone cut her hair. The last couple of weeks have been busy around the house so last weekend Jeff and I took her out for a family fun day, no work, house chores or school work for mom, we took her to Underwater Adventures at the MOA and she LOVED the fish!

Josie had her 6 month appt, she is now 18lbs and 27"! I am seeing a chiropractor because I love holding my daughter however she is getting big! She has passed sweet potatoes and we are moving onto squash. She is also able to sit up on her own and is drinking from a sippy.

Today Josie is 6 months old or as my niece Summer would say 1/2 of a year. Josephine had her first overnight without her mom and dad last night, she slept over at Grandmas and did awesome as usual. Daddy went hunting and Mommy chaperoned Summers 2nd grade girl scout troop at Camp Lakamaga. Josie and Sawyer our 8th month old nephew discovered that they are both able to fit in the same swing i'm not sure who had more fun the kids or us watching them!
